About Greg Bailey

Greg Bailey is a UK based photographer & Art Director. Choosing to predominantly work with and photograph people in the LGBTQ+ community within his personal development projects, and specialising in drag photography since 2012.

Greg launched his own magazine in 2015 called “Alright Darling”, Which spotlighted emerging talent in the queer scene alongside interviews and editorials of drag legends. In 2018 Laurence King publishing produced a book of Greg’s Drag portraits with an expanded title “Alright Darling? The contemporary Drag Scene”.Greg went on to widen Alright Darling’s reach by creating a queer centric podcast hosted by Greg and his close friend Daniel Leo Stanley, welcoming celebrity guests and cool creatives from the queer community. Greg has continued to work with Laurence King publishing and other publishing houses as a consultant and writer for their LGBTQ+ releases.

Most recently Greg has had a month long exhibition entitled “Lavender Boy” at the Helm Gallery in Brighton, showcasing his work alongside established artists such as Margot in Margate, Will Blood, and Damien Hirst. Over the month the gallery space was painted Lavender filling the exhibition hall with floor to ceiling prints of drag legends photographed by Greg, there were live photography events and Q&A evenings, custom merchandise and even a Lavender Boy cocktail. Greg is continuing to work with Drag’s familiar faces, but is passionate about the whole drag community and has chosen to focus his lens toward more people of colour, trans performers, non-binary people, and the lesbian community that work within the drag scene.
